JustOttawa is a webpage newspaper featuring reviews, columns and information, prepared by retirees living in Ottawa.
Our purposeOur purpose is to add to the quality of life of people living in this city. Unlike the media competition, JustOttawa has no financial or editorial stake in what it publishes, since we are a volunteer, non-profit, organization that welcomes opinions of all stripes.
We publishWe hope to publish several new items each few weeks, to be added to "Recent Material". . All Reviews and Columns are retained, and increasingly constitute a useful inventory that is accessible through the left-hand column on the Home Page.To publish that much material, however, we are counting on a good number of readers of JustOttawa becoming contributors, as well. We hope you will think about it. A review of a restaurant, film or whatever, that you liked. Or a column on a subject close to your heart. Take a look at the material already on the website; perhaps it will give you some ideas. Remember, JustOttawa is not looking for great works of literature – we wouldn’t recognize them – but just for material to brighten the day of people living in Ottawa. We don’t plan to edit your stuff, but we will look it over to see if we think we might get sued if we run it. Once you decide you want to write something and send it in, it is easy. Use the email address of:
and send it to me as an attachment or simply in the text of your message. We would prefer the use of Word, but can normally manage with WordPerfect, and documents in RTF are easiest of all. Look forward to receiving your contributions. All the best, Brian Northgrave |
